I've been using WebsiteGrader.com website.grader.com a lot lately, I'm getting kind of addicted actually. I grade everything... you got a website I've probably graded it! just kidding... It's a super tool for those just starting out in the confusing and many times hypocritical world of SEO. It'll give you a good base-point to help you understand where your website really stands according to those search engines we all use every day. You'll get some broad insight into the problems YOUR website is facing, along with valuable and easy to understand data (and recommendations on how to fix problems) that are IMO, invaluable when focusing your SEO efforts. SEO is a big, bad, buzz-word these days, and with good reason, this tool will help you get a grip/clue. It won't solve all of your problems for you, but it’ll try hard. I've been finding that there's a lot of myths out there about SEO... it's hard to believe almost anything you read. As you may know I have a couple little inventions that I've been trying bring to market, the biggest one being MeetingPress. In the past few years MeetingPress has been used by the International Cytokines Society, and International Society for Interferon and Cytokine Research. This includes McGill University in Montreal Canada and hopefully soon for their 2009 Lisbon meeting, the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIH is one of the world's foremost medical research centers. An agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the NIH is the Federal focal point for health research, so I have my fingers crossed. Anyways back to my really crappy website grade for MeetingPress! As of today, 11/19/2008, I graded a 9%... that's it... yes, out of 100%, yes I just said I got a damn 9, that's bad people. But it's also cool, why Mike, would you even say getting a 9 our of 100 is cool? Well Mom, it's because I've only just begun working on the marketing website for MeetingPress so I didn't expect it to score well at all, and now I have this "base-point" when I grade again in 2 weeks after some fine tuning and web trickery... if I still get a 9, well, then I'll question my career, probably move to the BVI, and get drunk a lot. I'm a Webmaster in the 'day-time' and my company is clockin’ in at a 96.6% on WSGer, now that's good! *ehm* mind you they were scoring a 74 when I got there only 2 months ago, and that's another story. So check it , use it, even call Hubspot (the creators of this wonderful tool) a also a local Massachusetts company. They seem like a great group of folks overall and are really willing to help you, but not in that obnoxious car-salesman kinda way... : ) I have a meeting with them next week, I will update you!
